The Academy Avignon is a Think Tank and Research Institute on European Level. Therefore Academy Avignon is discussing political relevant topics of a European dimension, which will have an impact on European regional, national, transnational and common economic life and especially on SME. Out of a variety of identified challenges for the future of Europe in any respect, directly or indirectly connected to the world of SME, Academy Avignon is enhancing, leading and fostering discussion on scenarios, possible solutions and visions. Though as in the past Academy Avignon is at the birth of new approaches to meet and create the future. These new approaches and visions are indicators, initiators and motors for politics, business and people in Europe. The Academy Avignon Visionaries think tomorrow’s world.

The Academy Avignon is working on annual and on specific research activities. The annual research projects are the “European Economic Outlook” (issued twice a year) and the “Scoreboard on European Charter for Small Enterprises” which give basic information on the actual situation for SME in Europe and every Member Country. The specific research projects are produced due to the need for basic information related to the Think Tank activity, projects or on demand. Innovation needs knowledge – research gains knowledge.

The participation in European projects, represent an additional opportunity for the Academy to research on issues related to the SME. Under this aspect, the Academy is engaged, as partner, in projects covering various themes.

The Know How transfer of the approaches and insights, gained from the discussion, and of the results of research activities, into practical use in SME business life is ensured by Training Activities with selected partners in every member country.
